FAQ
Sleep guidance rooted in science, shaped by real life.
What age do you work with?
I support families from the antenatal period, right through to children up to 5 years of age.
This includes:
-
Expectant parents wanting to prepare for newborn sleep
-
Newborns and infants
-
Toddlers and preschool-aged children
Support is always age-appropriate, developmentally realistic, and tailored to where your child is right now with a strong focus on education, confidence, and sustainable sleep habits.
Do you use “cry it out” methods?
No.
My approach is gentle, responsive, and attachment-aware. I do not use extinction or leave babies to cry alone.
That said, learning a new skill can sometimes involve frustration and I’ll always help you understand why that’s happening and how to respond in a supportive way that feels right for your family.
Can you help if I’m breastfeeding or contact-napping?
Absolutely, and this is incredibly common.
I work with feeding, not against it. Whether you’re breastfeeding, bottle-feeding, combination feeding, contact-napping, bedsharing, or using a sling, we build from what your baby already knows and gently support change only if and when you’re ready.
Will my baby ever sleep through the night?
“Sleeping through” means different things at different ages.
Many babies still need night feeds well into the first year, and that can be completely normal. My focus is on:
-
More predictable nights
-
Easier settling
-
Longer, more restorative stretches of sleep
-
Helping you feel confident responding overnight
Is there a guaranteed success rate?
I can’t promise specific outcomes, because babies aren’t robots.
What I can say is that I’ve seen improvements with every family I’ve worked with. Success depends on many factors, including your baby’s temperament, age, consistency, and what feels realistic for you as parents.
My role is to give you clarity, education, and support and you’re the one doing the day-to-day work, and I’ll be right alongside you.
What makes your approach different?
I don’t just tell you what to do, I help you understand why sleep works the way it does.
My background as a medical doctor and certified sleep consultant means I combine:
-
Sleep science
-
Infant development
-
Emotional wellbeing
-
Real-life parenting realities
Knowledge builds confidence and confident parents make empowered decisions.
What does working together look like?
Depending on your needs, support may include:
-
Sleep log analysis
-
1:1 consultations (virtual or in person)
-
A fully personalised sleep plan
- App-based sleep tracking
-
Ongoing remote support
-
Education around routines, naps, nights, and settling
There’s no “one size fits all”, therefore we choose what suits your family best.
How quickly will I see changes?
Some families notice small improvements within the first few days – such as easier settling, more predictable naps, or fewer overnight disruptions. For others, progress is more gradual as sleep patterns adjust and new routines settle in.
Sleep change is rarely a single moment of “fixing” something. It’s usually a series of small, cumulative shifts that build over 1–2 weeks as consistency, timing, and confidence improve.
What matters most is:
-
Understanding why your child is waking or struggling
-
Responding in a way that fits their development and temperament
-
Allowing enough time for the nervous system to adapt
This programme is designed to support steady, sustainable progress, rather than quick fixes that don’t last.
If progress isn’t happening as expected, we review and adjust together at scheduled check-in points, ensuring changes remain gentle, realistic, and appropriate for your child.
What if I feel anxious, emotional, or unsure?
That’s completely normal, especially when you’re sleep-deprived.
I’ve been there myself, and I hold space for the emotional side of sleep just as much as the practical side. You’ll never be made to feel silly, judged, or unsupported.
